......A high speed wrapping and packaging company has several full time positions open at its Long Island City NY facility on Day shift. The position starts at $11.00 per hour with daily and monthly production bonuses. Hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This location is convenient to public transportation and near the Queens PLZ and Queens Midtown Tunnel. You must have experience with heavy lifting in a fast paced environment, operating production machinery, or have some mechanical aptitude, be willing to learn and meet the physical requirements of the position.
The job duties are very physical and require you to continuously lift bags weighing up to 60 pounds to shoulder height unassisted, to fill the wrapping machine hoppers. You must be able to work 8 hours on your feet, lifting, carrying bending, squatting, operating hand and foot controls in a fast paced environment. The employee must also follow written and verbal instructions, complete simple math functions and paperwork.
The job is located in a secure, restricted environment and the nature of our business requires that you must first successfully complete a pre-employment, in addition to random, and post accident drug screens later in your employment. You must also successfully pass a thorough background, criminal and credit history investigation. The successful candidate will have a steady and verifiable work history. We will not consider a long history of numerous short term periods of employment of 2 years or less.
